Los Angeles Dodgers TicketsSince 1958 The Los Angeles Dodgers have gone thru 8 different managers, called two different stadiums their home, Won 5 World Championships, fielded 14 Hall of Famers, and hosted the All-Star game twice. Before moving to Los Angeles in 1958, the Dodgers previously played their games in Brooklyn. After being moved to LA, it took only 1 season for them to appear in the World Series. 1959 brought the LA Dodgers their 1st World Series Title in their new home. Duke Snider, Gil Hodges, and Don Drysdale all lent a hand in dominating the league. They met the Chicago White Sox in the World Series, and would beat them in 5 games. It wouldn’t be until 1963 that the Los Angeles Dodgers would find themselves in baseball’s big show. They would face the Yankees, and held them to just 4 runs in 4 games, and won with a sweep. In 1964, Sandy Koufax tossed his 3rd no hitter in as many years, but was the only high point of the Dodgers season. 1965 the Dodgers returned to the World Series again and faced the Minnesota Twins. The series went 7 games, and the Dodgers sent Sandy Koufax to the mound. He pitched one of the best games of his career with a 3 hit complete game shut out, striking out 10 batters. That would be the Dodgers 2nd championship in 3 years. It would be a long time coming for the Los Angeles Dodgers to return to the World Series. They would win their division a few times, and even made the World Series in 66,74,77and 78, but didn’t win the World Championship again until 1981. They made the Series again in 83 and 85, but 1988 provided one of baseball’s most memorable moments. Unless you were living on the moon in 1988, everyone remembers Kirk Gibson’s Dramatic moment in the World Series. Having been injured and not even expected to play, Kirk Gibson was brought in to pinch hit and face Dennis Eckersly. Barely able to even walk up to the plate, Gibson stepped in and faced the most dominant and fearful closer the game has ever seen. Gibson’s only World Series at bat was a Game Winning home run. “I don’t believe what I just saw” was screamed over the television in amazement. Truly one of sports all time greatest moments. It was something out of a movie.
