KC Royals TicketsSince Their expansion inception in 1968, the Kansas City Royals have gone thru 19 Managers, called two different Stadiums home, and won 1 World Championship. Four different players have been retired to baseball’s Hall of Fame, 4 have won Rookie of the Year honors, and 4 no hitters have been thrown by Royals Pitching. When you think of the Kansas City Royals, one cannot help but bring up George Brett, Bret Saberhagen , and Dan Quisenberry. George Brett has had his number retired, been inducted into the Hall of Fame, and won the AL MVP award in 1980. Bret Saberhagen has won the Cy Young award twice, pitched a no-hitter, and was named 1985 World Series MVP. Dan Quisenberry was a dominant Right handed pitcher, and won the Fireman Award 5 different times. 1985 was Kansas City Royals time to shine, as they fought their way to their 2nd World Series appearance. In 1980, the Royals fell short to the Phillies, but this time they found themselves up against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Royals brought with them two 30 Home Run hitters in Steve Balboni and George Brett, along with Cy Young Award Winner Bret Saberhagen, not to mention the AL save leader Dan Quisenberry. The Series went seven games, but that decisive game seven was no contest. The Kansas City Royals spanked the St. Louis Cardinals like a red-headed step-child, beating them 11-0, bringing home their first ever World Series Title. The years to follow their first and only World Championship have proven to be tough on Royal fans. Since their glorious win, they have failed to appear in the post season all together. In 1986, the Kansas City Royals signed Bo Jackson, after he refused to sign with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 1987, Bo signed with the Raiders and became one of the first 2-sport athletes. The Royals fell 2 games short of winning the division in 87, and some in the front office felt Bo’s football had something to do with it. 1992 brought on a milestone for long-time Kansas City Royal George Brett. On September 30th, George Brett became the 22nd player to reach 3000 career hits. Despite this personal milestone, the Royals finished the season in 5th place, with a 70-92 record. 2006 brought another milestone for the Kansas City Royals, however, this one was not a prestigious one. The Royals became the 11th team to lose 100 games, 3 years in a row. Their 62-100 Record was disappointing to say the least, and they almost repeated their fate the next year. By the end of 2007, the Kansas City Royals had a record of 69-93, falling 7 games shy of their previous 3 year loss.
